On Easter Sunday evening this April nearly all the churches in Retford will be closed and only one will remain open, to offer an evening service where all Christians will unite together in Grove Street Church.

The event that hopes to attract Methodists and Anglicans together, is expected to achieve a high attendance. The last time  union of this type was made was more than 2 years ago, where it attracted more than 650 in the congregation.

Tony Walker, the vicar at St Swithun's Church, explained why this event is likely to be a success. "Easter Day is the most fantastic day, the best day of the year and the most wonderful hymns are sung. Easter Day is a real day for Christians to celebrate and rejoice together". This shows a real sign of the Retford churches coming together and showing how well they work in unity.
