    Dear Ellie,
Welcome to the retfordpeople!, Whilst I am unable to confirm availability, I can recommend some wonderful places in Retford for Christmas dinner. Ye Olde Bell in Barnby Moor is a traditional and classical place to eat, wonderful for the festive season. Another option is The West Retford Hotel, which is a very pretty hotel with a wonderful open aspect to the gardens at the back and they also have tasty Christmas menus, they are based in the Hallcroft area on North Road. There is also the Hop Pole which has a wonderful atmosphere, however I am unable to confirm if they are open on Christmas day. Each of these restaurants are listed in our business directory on the search bar on the right hand side. You will find address details, contact numbers, and where appropriate, reviews. I hope you find what you are looking for! All the best and many thanks for stopping by, Simplyretford.

The Whitehouses is the best place to eat in Retford. My husband is one of the chef's, so I know the food is excelllent. Get booking now for Christmas as they are always busy.

The Whitehouses is indeed good for food although the front of house / owner can be unapproachable unless you are already sat at his tables. Also he despises people just coming in for a drink and refuses to serve - but i cant recall it saying anywhere taht it is a restaurant and not a pub!

    Still, good grub.

Went to a dinner booked at the Whitehouses for a friends' celebration, and we weren't even allowed to put any decorations on the table. Will not be going back.

I have also not got the best impression of the owner at The Whitehouses. Whilst at first he seemed polite saying 'sir and madam'; he soon became rude and ignorant for no reason. I will never go there again and neither will my family and friends.
