Still bad drivers out there in small town of Retford. It happen almost every day, when you see motorists jumped the traffic lights or jumped the zebra crossing even when someone tired to cross. This evenning stuck 3 or 4 nasty drivers chased each other like racers on a racing track because there were less traffic jam. They rushed throught the roundabout like they are going to meet their loves ones, home in time for their nagging wives or pub with the boys! Once they are in accident then that's their own faulted. Do not blame short of Ambulance or late coming to take them to Hospital. They just have blamed themselves if this does happen to them for being stupid race round the road in this snowy condition. "Appalling"!!

Agreed about the bad drivers out there. I have almost been knocked over myself on several occasions. It also annoys me that people drive on the market square just to go to the cash machine!

Agree Ian, that is very lazy.

I too don't like to see the speeders, but I think on measure most drivers are careful and courteous? What does everyone else think?

Difficult one cars etc on the market square. Traditionally, as old photos show, used for cars so what has changed?

I have a personal view, that I know not everyone shares, that the new surface was badly specified.

I would have thought market traders vehicles and council vehicles would be a constant source of tyre and oil marks not just people driving to cash machines (which I have never done).

As to driving in town, my personal gripe is buses that are too big to operate in our town are blocking the roads, especially Grove Street. Often with few passengers on. So why not make the roads in town safer and reduce the operators' costs by having smaller buses?

Yeah you're right!! Dirty cars and oil stains on new Square so what's new then? Just wasted of money hey! Millions of pounds could have gone to help the needy, the homeless and the NHS as well as the joblesses by get a new Supermarket, wouldnt that be nice then?

And i agreed with Adjutator, that money spend on smaller buses called Mini Buses like those in Asia countries, would be good for smaller town like Retford. They can run faster than normal big bus and give more room to roads users, and will suit Retford.

Yes and perhaps we could use the money saved by smaller buses to run a free shuttle from the station to the town centre which would help towards another issue raised on this site.
