Selina this is very true and I believe Retford has a very strong community of people that want to help each other out and will work together. Wisteria is a beautiful tea room and I am sure it attracts a good and loyal following of customers.

I think its good to have many small independants, but to make Retford more successful we need some more branded and well known places. Instead of spended approx 1.5 million on the market square, we could of helped to fund better known shops to come into Retford, such as Next, which would bring in more custom to all of the shops surrounding Retford.

ReportThis is very true, it certainly would be helpful to have some attractive and big brand stores in Retford. I can also understand the frustration in regards to the market square, many have also contested whether it was any better for all the money and disruption caused, I am unsure, however who funded the development?. I suppose the lack of big brands on the high street could be as much to do with the online retail environment?. But I do believe we need to attract new business to the area somehow as it is a great town with plenty of prospects :)
