How will you mark Valentine's Day...a posh meal, a takeaway or a teddy bear?? Let us know on RetfordPeople!
will probably be plenty of wining and dining next Tuesday night, as Valentine's
Day comes round again and many couples may fall under Cupid's spell. But where
are the best places to enjoy a special meal for two in Retford? Here are a few
suggestions:
There are
some excellent restaurants close to the centre of Retford that specialise in
traditional British fayre, as well as Indian and Italian options, and will be
almost definitely be offering special Valentine's Day menus. Try: The West
Retford Hotel, The Elms Hotel, Whitehouses and King & Miller. (But do look
around, as there are many others!)
Further away, but still very handy within easy
driving distance are venues such as Ye Old Bell at Barmby Moor and The
Charnwood at Blyth, which both offer goregous settings as well as lovely
dinners.
If the
environment and food of a relaxed and friendly village pub is more along the
lines of what you're after, there are many in the Retford area. The majority
have excellent reputations with much repeat custom, and prices are generally
good. Try: The Gate Inn at Clarborough, The Boat Inn at Hayton, The Bluebell
Inn at East Drayton, The Eyre Arms at Rampton.
Perhaps
you want to treat your special man or lady to their favourite cusine? We are
lucky to have some lovely Indian restaurants in the Retford area, while Italian
and Chinese preferences are also well catered for.
And,
should you decide to opt for a night in with a take-away instead of a meal out,
you will find all of the above variations of cuisine are just as well catered
for as a take-out option, too... there are some great Take-away venues all over
Retford, the hardest decision will be which to choose!
However
and wherever you spend Valentine's Day we hope you and yours enjoy a special
evening with good food, good drink, and most important of all, great company...
