Retford gets zumba fever!

Everyone by now knows that I'm a big zumba fan! - and it's all thanks to falling upon a great little class held in Sturton-le-Steeple village hall on a Tuesday evening.
-
Zumba fever in Retford - we're all infected!!
For an hour from 7.30pm until 8.30pm you can come along, try it out and there's no obligation to join. It costs £4.50 for one week or, if you love it! - and you surely will! - sign up for ten weeks for £40.
It doesn't matter if you miss a week; you sign up for ten and no worries if they are not consecutive.
Ok, so I'm no great mover.... and I have to confess being a bit worried when I first walked in and saw a fair few toned bodies and wondered if it'd fit in.
Well there was nothing to worry about - everyone, especially the teacher is very friendly and makes you feel right at home. In between wowing at the teacher's fabulous moves (I swear you've never seen anything like it! - that girl can MOVE!) and having a laugh with my friends after we mutally dragged each other along for support I soon found as I was starting to get the hang of it (well, in my own little way...). But the key thing is it is so much fun and its also a fabulous workout.
It works every part of your body and half way through the hour you are definitely sweating! So it must be doing some good, right??
So what's the vibe? Well, the style is I suppose a bit of salsa and hip hop and 'street??' moves mixed with a bit of.... well i don't know what... Latin inspired dancing? Yep I think that's it. Doesn't really matter - this is Fun with a capital F!
It reminds me of my favourite dancey/girly movies Dirty Dancing and Shall We Dance and Coyote Ugly.... fuse all those together and you're somewhere close.
The key message from a fitness point of view is this is what you might call 'exercise in disguise'....burning calories has never been so easy and so much fun to do - honest!
I guarantee, any lady whatever your age, size and usual fitness routines if you give this a go you will be hooked. You leave tired but happy and feeling really alive - and definitely feeling ten years younger! - which can surely never be a bad thing!
You'll achieve your fitness goals in a fun, friendly environment and the hour flies by in a blur meaning you're soon looking forward to next week's class.
Zumba is happening everywhere at the moment folks, so you're spoilt for choice on classes. As well as the class at Sturton you can find it at Carr Hill School, Retford on a Tuesday from 6 til 7pm; Wednesdays at The Elms Hotel also at 6 til 7pm or Thursdays 7 'til 8pm at Retford Sports Centre. These three classes cost £4 a go. It's a bargain!
As tonight is my official zumba night I'll post up some pics on the site later in the week (if the class will let me take some!!) so everyone can see just how much fun we're all having...and hopefully you'll all come and join us next week!?!
Come on don't be shy - give it a try! But bring water with you because I promise, you will get HOT !!!
