Opposing views on wind farm shown

AS A renewable energy company makes the case for a wind farm near Wheatley, campaigners were due to hold a video demonstration nearby.

EDF Renewables were due to hold a roadshow to inform residents and affected parties about plans for a wind farm between Wheatley and Sturton-le- Steeple yesterday.

At the same time, the Wheatley Energy Forum were expected to show a 10-minute film, voicing their opposition to the plans.

Wheatley Energy Forum spokesman Ted Pasley said many residents thought the proposed development would spoil the countryside between the two villages.

He said: "(The video) is viewed by Wheatley Energy Forum as another stage in the ongoing battle against the wind farm proposals."

EDF Renewables' roadshow follows a study it published for the 10-turbine wind farm earlier this year.
