Motorist dies after collision with lorry

AN EDWINSTOWE motorist has died after a crash in Ollerton.

Gillian Smith, 57, died after her Ford Fiesta collided with a Ford Iveco articulated lorry near Ollerton roundabout on the A6075.

The incident happened at about 9.10am on Wednesday, January 18.

Mrs Smith was taken to King's Mill Hospital following the collision, but subsequently died of her injuries.

Her family have been informed and are currently being supported by police officers.

The 53-year-old male driver of the articulated lorry was uninjured.

The road was closed from the Ollerton roundabout to the former Thoresby colliery.

It reopened at about 3.45pm.
