CALLING all sports enthusiasts - handball taster sessions are being served up in Notts.

Handball is an indoor team sport that has been described as combining all the best elements of basketball, football and water polo, with a touch of rugby thrown in.

It is a fast paced Olympic sport and Notts now boasts two public sessions in Gedling and Newark. The mixed sessions are open to complete beginners and people who have tried the sport already.

Both sessions run on a weekly basis and are lead by qualified England Handball coaches.

The Newark sessions start on Friday, January 20 at Magnus School Sports Hall (NG24 4AB):

6-7pm: Junior session (11-15yrs) £2 per week

7-8pm: Adults sessions (16+) £3 per week

For more information or to reserve a space please contact Matt Bloor, Sports Development Officer, at Nottinghamshire County Council on 0115 977 22 68 or matthew.bloor@nottscc.gov.uk

The Gedling session runs every Thursday from 8pm to 9pm at Gedling Sports Centre (NG4 4HX). This session is for adults 16+ and for more details contact Colin Wills at the University of Nottingham, on 0115 961 9458 or email colin.wills@nottingham.ac.uk
